Butterflies and Cartoons

While in Portland, Ari and Aaron got their portraits drawn, as cartoons! So cute!
And they also picked out this pretty butterfly necklace for me at the Saturday Market. I love it!

Baby Daddy Overnight

Ari and Aaron took a little getaway trip down to Portland, OR for some baby daddy time. They had a blast! I loved getting texts and pictures of how much fun they were having. They stayed in a hotel and rode the Max to the Zoo, had dinner with Aunt Lynn and Isabel, and went to the Saturday Market. They came back Saturday night. While they were away I had some downtime to go to the spa! I sure missed my guys though. Here are the pictures that Aaron texted me while they were gone.
Lunch time on the road!
Hotel! And a map! Woo hoo!
Hotel bed!
Ari got to ride the Max train! So excited! Doesn't he look so happy?

Good morning!

Breakfast in bed

And...nap time.

I'm so glad they got some good quality time together! :)

Ari Get's a Haircut

Well, we finally got Ari's hair cut! The curls are still there, of course - how could we cut those off!? But he really needed a trim because it was in his eyes, and bugging him. So, I took him to West Seattle Kids Salon to get a trim. He got to sit in a tractor seat and was such a good boy staying still for the stylist. So, here's a before picture of our little guy with his longer hair. We even had a friend say that he looked like he had a moose and squirrel on his head! HA! Ok, it was alittle long...(he was also being mistaken for a girl by strangers)And here he is with his new haircut! He got a special after haircut yummy treat for being so good. :) It was as big as his head!

I love this picture. I have it on my desktop at work so I can look at it all day. It's just so cute and he looks so happy.

Throwing Rocks at Lincoln Park

We like to go to Lincoln Park to hang out, throw rocks, run around, picnic and play on the playground. Ari LOVES to throw rocks. We always have fun when we go. Now that its getting a little nice out, we've been trying to go more. Here is a video I shot of Ari (quality isn't that great) playing on the beach back in February of this year.

Ari was sick with the flu in January - and I got this little song he started singing on tape. They sing it at school...SO CUTE!

Best Birthday Ever - You Only Turn 30 Once

Ok, first of all, I have to say that I have the most incredible husband! It really took a lot of work to surprise me with a romantic kid-less birthday weekend getaway! We haven't had alone time since Ari was born, and we really needed it!
Aaron did all the planning and preparation. He arranged with my work in advance for me to have Friday off and he arranged for Ari to stay with our dear friend (and caregiver for Ari during the work week) for the weekend. We have never both left Ari overnight before so this was a big deal for us. Of course we missed him like crazy and were so happy to see him on Sunday. :)

Aaron took me to The Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach, OR. We got engaged there in 2005 and we also celebrated our one year anniversary there in 2007. It's such an amazing place! It's so beautiful. We really really love it there. Here is the view from our ocean front room -Right after we arrived at the Inn, Aaron had another surprise waiting for me - a massage! I got to go to the spa Friday afternoon and relax - it was incredible. I haven't been that relaxed in a long time. We spent the rest of the weekend eating fancy meals, walking on the beach, shopping and relaxing. We loved it. :) This seriously was the best birthday ever!
